i know that i had Ray in my queue at netflix, but now that shit is not listed there or ANYWHERE else on the site. it is out on video already, right? are they pulling the existing copies so they can make one that says "ACADEMY AWARD WINNER JAIME GODDAMNED FOXX" and put a trailer for that crazy space-plane movie that he's got coming on the front of it?

I saw it at Blockbuster the other day so it's definitely out. You're probably right about the packaging. Totally lame.

Probably. I rented it at Blockbuster 2 weeks ago so I know it's out. It's never in though.

This is the unforeseen(sp?) problem with Blockbuster's no late fees policy. The new releases are NEVER in and they don't do the Guaranteed in stock deal with the bigger releases any more. I don't think.

Also, you're surprised by this?

You know good and well that Oscar winner will be tattoed everywhere. Same deal with Grammy winning albums. Capitalism sir.

You bet your bottom dollar. I never once got all the way through Ray - it put me to sleep faster than dramamine. Foxx is good, but you can tell dude's been doing Ray impressions since forever. Shit, I think he did a couple spoofs of Ray on In Living Colour. Go see Bird instead.

the only thing that i'm surprised about is that every listing of it just disappeared from netflix. i thought that they'd have a message saying "you can't have Ray now because we need time to make sure that it says THAT DUDE FROM IN LIVING COLOR WON AN OSCAR BRO on it somewhere in gold foil. Enjoy watching Stealth", and maybe a picture or two:[img][339:500]http://www.cinemacenter.hpg.ig.com.br/jamie-foxx.jpg[/img] but no such message was forthcoming.

It took me having it at the top of my quere since before it came out to get "Some Kind of Monster" on Saturday.... I think I'm going to go through the same thing with my current #1, "Motorcycle Diaries"...

It's getting tougher to get some movies unless you have something returned at just-the-right-time w/ Netflix...

the trick is to have something mailed back friday or saturday if you want them to mail on monday something that's available on tuesday.

We had it at the top of our Netflix queue for about a week, received it this past Friday and watched it Saturday night. Don't know if it was a reissue, but it did provide "theatrical release" and "extended" play options. Never saw it in the theater, so I'm not sure what the diff is.

Damn good movie though (IMO).

I can't wait until they pu out the Awards Edition of Booty Call*...

* you could also substitute Bait or Held Up (which is undoubtedly a worse movie), but I appreciate "Booty Call" for it's simplicity.

And it's scene revolving around the aphrodisiac qualities of Tiger Penis, once injested.

But, mostly, it's simplicity.

i really liked Booty Call. I think it's a clever and well written comedy.

I like when Tommy Davidson wrapped himself in saran wrap.
