Holy shit, has anyone heard these? I have long considered Exile on Main Street and Trout Mask Replica my favorite albums of all time (don't ever ask me to decide between the two, because I will not), and somehow I just got around to hearing these. The sound is shitty in a way INCREDIBLE - what Exile should have sounded like all along.

Tracklist:

1. Shine a Light
2. Sweet Virginia
3. Good Time Woman
4. Loving Cup
5. Stop Breaking Down
6. Shake Your Hips
7. Let It Loose (instrumental)
8. Sweet Black Angel (instrumental)
9. Know the Reason Why
10. Highway Child
11. All Down the Line
12. I Ain't Lying
13. Ventilator Blues
14. Exile on Main Street Blues

I honestly didn't like the outtakes.

I wanted to, tho.

All of their albums are better than Trout Mask Replica.

That's a degradation to a big piece of shit. Worst fucking album ever.

Sure about that ace?

I honestly can't remember ever saying one thing about interpol on this board. Try Again.

Trout Mask Replica STILL sucks.

TMR doesn't suck. Maybe you don't like it, but it certainly doesn't as all of you so eloquently put it--suck. I think its inspired more artists than most of you have given credit, and was pretty damn forward-thinking even in such a watershed year as 69.

Yeah, I'd rather have Trout Mask Replica on repeat for the rest of my life than be forced to listen to 6 minutes of Interpol.

And those Exile outtakes are good, although I disagree about the sound quality - it sounds too much like it was recorded through a wet blanket and two layers of dead hobos. IMO, the holy grail of Stones boots is The Black Box (which includes most of the highpoints of the Exile stuff).

I can think of plenty that are more horrible.

Are these the same outtakes as Main Street Revisited?

Trout Mask Replica is the greatest litmus test ever. Although this thread isn't telling me anything I didn't already know.

As far as I'm concerned, DDR's one saving grace is that he likes Beefheart.

i really love trout mask replica... as long as i only hear it once every 4.2 years.

exile, however, is another story. in fact, that consecutive run starting with beggars banquet and ending with exile is just about the best album run there is. (i *did* say just about.) it's almost my favorite music on this earth. (i *did* say almost.)

kath
who doesn't know interpol, but they would hafta be better than dirty work.

Then again, a picture of her holding that CD is strangely appropriate. It's like her carrying around a Bible for paparazzi pictures.

I would love to see these - They haven't released a special edition yet, as far as I know of...
