Maybe I wasn't clear but I'm definitely a big, big fan of many Merge artists. They do put out some garbage but the great stuff more than makes up for it.

oh, I was really referring to Danny Don't Rapp's idiotic comment that my post about being a Merge fan is a "fucking joke"

I don't really pay attention to labels as a general rule. The only label that I feel like puts out really good/interesting music on a consistent basis is Nonesuch. Their big name, of course, is Wilco... but there is also Sam Phillips. Not to mention amazing releases by Steve Reich.
