It's kinda hard to be precise about these things but I think today may have been the best mail ever.

- No Bills

- No Junk Mail

- Stuff from Amazon

- Final dotting the i's and crossing the t's University acceptance confirmation

- New bank card (it's so nice and shiny and pristine, my name is actually is silver and it has a 3D bird on it.)

Do you have a best mail ever? Any mail related ancidotes? Mail is good, people so I wanna hear you're mail recollections, so get posting.

That's a damn good mail session there, Frew.

I can't say any particular super days. Thought I was sorting through a bunch of mail that I thought was all landlady or ex-residents... and I found a CD that postmersh sent me over a month ago. I was very pleased.

Hands down for me is the following:

One morning, my wife and I are heading out to work and as we're pulling out of the drive, we see the Purolater truck heading towards our townhouse. She suggests we stop and wait to see if they are indeed delivering mail to us and sure enough, they are. So I hustle over to grab this rather large parcel. My wife enters a lot of online contests for fun, so often she gets a lot of mail this way. On this day however, came the motherload. I go inside and spill out the contents, which is approximately 20 cds, Kiss Box Set and 100 gift certificate. Apparantly she won this contest from the Future Shop. Matthew Good, a mid level Canadian singer, chose his favourite cds as the prize. His music is not my style, but his taste is music was fairly good, included among others, James Brown, Sonic Youth, Pulp, Beautiful South, Public Enemy. The Kiss Box set was awesome, but the deluxe edition of Live at Leeds was the creme de la creme. There were a lot of repeats from my own collection, so I sold quite a bit, but it was the best mail day I've ever had.

Today was an awesome mail day for me. I got a birthday card and although it was late, it is the thought that counts and it had money in it. I also received 6 cds that I ordered from Amazon.com. I am not sure how happy I should be because I look back and I sound greedy and selfish. Some people don't get any mail at all.

I hope this didn't ruin the mood this thread was intended to create.

Always love getting that income tax refund in the post.

Sure hate working up to it, though.

When I was younger I would write to skateboard companies to try and get free stickers and stuff... I wrote to my favorite skater at the time, Steve Stedham, and didn't hear anything back for weeks.I was kinda bummed..One day, I came home from being out, and there was a package for me with all kinds of stuff from Steve..Stickers, a zine...a whole bunch of stuff...I was happier than a pig in shit...That happened well over 13-14 years ago and I still remember it as one of the best mail days ever for me...

When I was 8, I got my first issue in my Mad magazine subscription. That was pretty much tops.

Of course, the first day I was home from the hospital, THREE packages arrived, carrying CDs from friends. That was awfully great.

There was, of course, this very recent day -- thanks to Ish and Yail:

http://obner.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=4310

And, then there's today where I've been informed that my debt to the IRS is gonna be paid off!! That'll be $3500 I won't owe anymore -- whew, thank you, powers that be!

Ohhh, and there was yesterday too when a wee package was received from back_space with a custom Catherine Wheel mix made especially for me! Thank you, Jeff!! Cool artwork too!
