My old professor had one in the lab, he was big into the brain basis of altered states of consciousness, religious visions etc. I tried it out, it was pretty cool, but wasn't all that. If I was high as a kite on goofballs it might have been better. That being said, there are a lot of individual differences with respect to these kinds of effects and I think I'm a the low end of the totem for visions etc.
