The Bees (Band Of Bees) first record 'Sunshine Hit Me' is one of my favorite records over the past 2-3 years (or so). I know they released another record not too long ago. Has anyone heard it?? I cant find it any where.

I felt the same way about UNKLE's first record 'Psyence Fiction'. The second release could only be purchased as an import for the longest time. I shelled out the extra cash and it was a huge disappointement.

No Shadow, only James Lavelle doing the beats.
It had another all star line up but failed to execute.

The album is total butt

Hopefully, The Bees second record is as good as the first.

The second record is FAR different, however, I personally love it. It sounds much more like 60's rock throwback songs. Nothing like the variety found in the first record. But the songs are catchy as hell, and very fun. Don't expect more of the same, but it is still a fun record. One of my favorites from last year.

A lot of people seem to love that debut but did nothing for me personally. The second album, on the other hand, was great but sounded very different. This review sums it up quite nicely and I don’t see it coming out in the states anytime soon.

The second album is called 'Free the Bees', and it's been released under the name the bees, but not domestically; you can get it from other music among other places. Personally, it was one of my favorite records from last summer, perfect for warm weather.
They recorded it at Abbey Road on all the same equipment the Beatles used, and the record is essentially their tribute to everything they liked about sixties music. It's not original, but it's very good if you're into that sort of thing. Definitely check it out if you get the chance.

yeah, mrmr makes a pretty good mini-review. it's very sixties, i don't like sixties rock, i found it to be a big disappointment and uninteresting because i loved the first one so much.

Seriously... one of the worst records this decade.

free the bees was on my top 20 for '04. definitely sounds different than their first, but both are great in my opinion.

Really??

I liked just about every track on it.
The album has a variety of different styles of muisc.
Great harmony
I liked the style of recording . Sounded as if it was recorded by all analog equipment which kind of gave it that dirty/garagesque sound.
I thought it was a very underated record.

What did'nt you like about it?
