my friend dan taught me to play wish you were here by pink floyd back in 9th grade.
still to this day, even if i haven't picked up my guitar in a year, i can play every note.

I think it was a really dumbed-down version of Stairway, which I learned from a tape I made of a band covering it in a gymnasium... not even the real thing. Gotta start somewhere.

The first song I remember learning (at least the first one I cared about) was "Spirit Of the Radio" by Rush.

Now, I hate that band.

Soon after, a friend showed me "Up On the Sun" by Meat Puppets. I still love them. 8)
