i've been looking at that Sonos, or another digital media receiver, but my tivo can stream music off the desktop to my stereo (although if doing so i can't watch anything but the track title) so i'm like halfway there. i'd still love to get something that would stream digital video to the TV/stereo but i haven't made the jump yet.

I would love to have one of those.

Do you need a seried 2 TiVo to do this. I cannot figure out if I have a series 2 or not?

you need the home media option, which i think is a download to the tivo, and the tivo desktop, which you get from their website. if you've bought the tivo in the past couple of years then it's probably series 2, so far as i can tell.

for some reason i was think series 2 were all silver but i have series 2 hooked to a high speed connection
