about two years ago i was taken by surprise by this chicago band colossal who opened for some punk bands in a firehouse in new jersey. i don't get surprised by an opening band i've never heard of very often, and so when i saw them, it was some sort of milestone. if i had to summarize them, and i do, i'd call them angular rock with a trumpet sometimes.

bottom line is, they're very good.

here's a link to one of their non-album tracks which isn't entirely indicative of what they sound like, but it's great nonetheless.

I heard their last album "Welcome the Problems" and was quite impressed. They remind me a lot of Seam.
