Aural, to answer your question, it's just another holiday where you have your kids off of school and no mail service. I don't get it either.

My weekend:

Tonight: Go see my husband's band open for a sold out Jeff Tweedy show at the Vic Theatre. Yay!! I can't wait. I'm excited but nervous for them. So hopefully I'll get to meet mr Tweedy himself if I'm lucky. We'll see. :D

Tomorrow: Charlie comes over and we hang, I clean, watch movies eat dinner.

Sunday: Josh and I hang with Charlie and that's about it.

Monday: Take train to burbs to see my mom and my chiropractor, me and Charlie hang with her for a few hours.

Phil, wish I could have come to one of these shows but Charlie's with us more often then not lately and well, can't drag a kid into a bar.

03.04 - Celebrate wife's b-day early before folks come to town. Dine at posh seafood restaurant, booze & pass out on top of wife.

03.05 - Spend QT with moms & steppops. Eat well, buy music. Go to children's theatre to see Monkey King. Pre-party for aunt's art show.

03.06 - Aunt's art opening. Drink wine and then kite-skiing later in the PM. Ralph. Send off the folks. Fall into nice warm coma.

Tonight I'm going to see Slobberbone's final Chicago show at the Abbey. We'll probably head to a different place beforehand to play some pool and get primed for the show.

I've got no idea what I'm going to do for the rest of the weekend. Probably nothing all that exciting.

I'm printing out my PhD dissertation right now and am going to hand it into the Faculty of Graduate Studies. In my little bubble, this is about as fucking cool and exciting as it gets, friends and neighbours.

Of course I still have to defend the damn thing, but that's not for 6 weeks.

I took today and Monday off work for what is sure to be one of the most mongerous weekends in my brief time here on earth. We've already predicted arrests, sleeping in gutters, passing out in dumpsters and maybe even a few deaths. The Dark Lord will certainly reign over this trip.

We knew the weekend was going to be fun and a little scary, but we needed a model, a point of inspiration that would serve as a symbol for the complex feelings we all have about destroying ourselves emotionally, mentally and physically for a 48 hour span. Therefore we deemed the weekend Pirate Baby Weekend.

We had t-shirts made. The tattoo is screenprinted on. 19 mid-twenty-somethings will convene late this afternoon in New Orleans, LA, the Crescent city, the birthplace of jazz, etc. for the bachelor party to end all bachelor parties.

Pray for mojo. :hellfire:

Not too exciting, but I'm finally setting up my fish tank this weekend and watching The Barbarian Invasions and Sex Is Comedy.

The therapist at my chiropractor's office dates the lead singer of Anberlin, who are in Pontiac tonight with a half-dozen other screaming mallpunk bands on the Take Action tour. She got me on the guest list, so I feel compelled to go, even though I'm not all that jazzed about it.

Sat: meet with the girl who will serve as the intern for the business my friends and I are starting; talk over some graphic designs and ideas for the Web site.
Then going to see Hot Hot Heat in Detroit, hopefully scoring an interview I can either shop around or use for the paper.

Sun: Up in the air. Should do laundry, but the intern and her bf are getting a bunch of peeps together for dinner and drinks. Also, a buddy spins industrial and hardcore at my fave bar downtown. I've not seen him play yet and need to check it out.

Chase,

I saw this movie and thought it was pretty damn good. Depressing, but good.

yeah i thought that it was GOOD but i'd been hearing GREAT so i guess that's my problem. i just don't think that the french sensuality/bawdiness is all that intriguing or rebellious but it appears that you say that to french people and they get all high and mighty about your american puritanism.

I'm staying home, doing laundry, drinking beer, and grilling out.

Polish sausage, of course.
