I just re-discovered this while out for a morning bike ride. I dunno if it's the gorgeous weather that set the mood, but man i was loving this tune!

Time to dive into the R.E.M. back catalog again.

Agreed on N.W.H., the harmonies fucking rule.

<-------Has been heavy into the R.E.M. lately.

Nice song. Mike Mills has always performed great backing vocals to Stipe.

Last night when my player randomly came up with R.E.M. '"Near Wild Heaven," Johnny Nash "Hold Me Tight," Dr. Calculus "Full Of Love," Cheap Trick "Surrender," The Winstons "Color Him Father," and XTC "Grass" I was convinced I might actually like humanity and everything.

But then a Swans track came up and I went "Oh, yeah, that's right, fuck it all."

And the shamelessly Moody Blues-esque "Texarkana."

Still, they shoulda waited until they had a full album's worth of good songs instead of stuffing it with filler like "Belong," "Endgame," "Low" and (sorry) "Country Feedback." ([Sorrier] I actually like "Radio Song.")

Second weakest album (after Monster) of the Bill Berry years.

"Country Feedback" is one of the awesomest of awesomosities. "Radio Song" is mostly silly.

I used the word "weakest" rather than "worst" on purpose; I don't actually dislike an R.E.M. album until Up. Prior to that, Top 5 Band for me.

I could live without 'belong' but that's still one of my favourite albums. For a long time it was my only car cassette, on continuous loop for months. :)

I'll take Up over Monster and New Adventures..... I actually like that album a ton for some reason. Whota thunk it?

"Radio Song" was never a classic, but it's one of those songs that has aged HORRIBLY, IMO. It actually makes me cringe now...everything about it sounds lame & cheezy.

I likes "Texarkana", though. Good call on the Moody-ness, Lump.
