Good mix, but why no "Ex-Lion Tamer"? Just too much Pink Flag already?

Yeah, I easily could've made the mix entirely from the "holy trinity", but I think their music since the first Read & Burn EP has been nearly as amazing, so sacrifices had to be made. A proper "best of", without the ten track restriction, would include it without a doubt.

No A Bell Is a Cup... either, though?
There was some great stuff on there, too.
"Kidney Bingos"?

And yeah, I know that it's a moot point (and that it's your mix), but that's what a board is for, no?

While I will certainly be downloading this AND I have you to thank for introducing me to "Whiskey For the Holy Ghost", nothing off Bubblegum = FAIL.

I just don't get it Billgy.

I just don't think it holds up well. It's a good record, but not in my favourites.

I thought of doing a Sloan mix, but this is a great idea. Jay is probably my favourite member of the band.

Do you like Rock and/or Roll? Are you tired of Wizard Rock and PPDD?Well you're in luck! For a limited time only I offer you this:

THE LITTLE KILLERS

Image

These guys formed in 2001 and are unfortunately no longer playing together but while they were they made some of the best stripped down, super charged, dirty, garage punk around. This is loose and wreckless rock n roll that some people on here will absolutely hate but to my ears, it's rock n roll at it's best. Press record, go. Not a lot of 3rd and 4th takes here. Production is rudimentary at best but that's also what makes it great.

This collection runs somewhere around 25-26 minutes.

Quote:
... a gimmick-free, no-frills grindfest of lo-fi amusements—the kind of slightly diabolical, casually sleazy stuff your Satanic hog mechanic would sandwich between Johnny Cash and Pussy Galore on a long-lost off-the-wagon weekend. Slurry rants about no-good chicks like "Jenna Lee" and "Messin' Around" are set to jagged Johnny Thunders licks and wailing, Stonesy honky-skronk

RIYL - New York Dolls/Johnny Thunders, The Saints, Chuck Berry, Keith Richards, The Stooges, Jon Spencer.

You get the idea:

http://www.mediafire.com/?4gih3blrdgx

EDIT- Forgot the track listing:

1) Don't Leave Me
2) Jenna Lee
3) Happy
4) How Do You Do It?
5) She Don't Love Me
6) Volume
7) After Awhile
8) Butterfingers
9) Finger Pie
10) Something Special

Good Thin Lizzy Comp, although I'd have had to make room for Cowboy. If I didn't already have that stuff I'd grab it.
