Of the people who snagged mine (Little Killers).........all 2 of you.............did you have any issues with it?

I'm seeing that some people are having issues with some of the mixes done on a Mac.

I'm curious if mine may have been messed up.

If you haven't already, check them out.

For a brief, shining moment, Vancouver's Sons of Freedom (named after the Doukhabor nudist sect) were absolutely the loudest thing in all of Canada and their debut album featured enough volume and metallic crunch to attract the attention of Los Angeles label Slash. It wasn't precisely heavy metal, though, as it contained a lot of fierce punk snarling, in much the same manner as labelmates Faith No More did at the time. Unlike Chuck Mosley's yelping bark, however, the Sons' Jim Newton actually sang somewhat (though his voice was still the point of much debate). The first three tracks of the album are nearly perfect, and most of the rest of the album comes pretty darned close. One of the high watermarks of Canadian hard rock, the album still sounds fresh and challenging.

For fans of: Bruce Springsteen, drugs and alcohol, broken relationships, scruffy voices guys with guitars. Typical lyric "Ten dollar bill and the tank ain't filled, still I'm leavin'. I heard about you and your clubbin' scene, you heard about me and my benzedrine. If you're goin' girl, will you take me there?"

Los Plugz

One of the earliest Latino punk bands. From LA, first couple songs fairly straight ahead punk of its time. Then they toss in a crazy version of La Bamba. The later songs are more roots rock oriented stuff they did later, including a spanish language song that was included on the Repo Man soundtrack.

RIYL: Fugazi, dirty hippies, Soul Coughing

01) Messes of Men (Brother, Sister)
02) Paper Hanger (Catch For Us the Foxes)
03) Gentlemen (A to B Life)
04) Torches Together (Catch For Us the Foxes)
05) In A Sweater Poorly Knit (Brother, Sister)
06) The Ghost (A to Be Life)
07) The Soviet (Catch For Us the Foxes)
08) Bullet to Binary (A to Be LIfe)
09) Wolf Am I! (And Shadow) (Brother, Sister)
10) Son of a Widow (Catch For Us the Foxes)

A tough mix, simply because their songs tend to flow into each other to a certain extent, which makes trying to sequence them in any other way a near impossibility. But as long as people know that there are some rough exits and intros, we should be good.

To put together a Buckner mix using just 10 songs is a tall oda. You nailed it. (Nice one throwing in the Dark Invader/Fanglord track)

If it's any consolation, I have been seriously considering grabbing that Elliot Murphy. And, if I didn't already love Johnny Dowd and have plenty I would have grabbed it.

Tobin Sprout

Quote:
Despite his own solo successes, Tobin Sprout will probably always be known as the one-time four-track wizard and songwriting side kick to Robert Pollard in Ohio's lo-fi pop kings Guided By Voices. Though less prolific than his boss, fans of the group were quick to take note of Sprout's irresistible song craft.
