True Colors...movie with Cusack and James Spader. It's sad that I know people like this.

NP last night's purchases:

Bob Dylan - Live 1975: The Rolling Thunder Revue
Sloan - Action Pact
Billy Bremner - Bash!
Glenn Tilbrook - Transatlantic Ping Pong
Lindsey Buckingham - Bootleg of the unreleased "Gift of Screams" album

An awfully pop-pact purchase, it was.

I love that Copeland disc! I wish he'd make more like it. Good, primal tribal stuff w/ Stewie on drums.

Man, I gotta pull that out when I get off work (not that).

Oh, yeah- np- muzak.

The Rumblefish, Equalizer, Silent Fall, Rapa Nui and Leopard Son soundtracks are great, too. He's done the scores for quite a few movies, but many were never released as soundtracks. Last time I looked up his discography, he'd done something like 30 scores/soundtracks and several operas, most of which I've never heard. I also like Oysterhead quite a bit.

But The Rhythmatist is Copeland's vision, not subservient to a movie's mood, even though there is something of film of the same name that serves as a chronicle of his trip to Africa and his tracking down of the sounds used for the album. I haven't seen it since the late 80's, but it's a great little film.

An album that i described to Derris one time as "The soundtrack of trying to scam a blowjob at 3 in the morning"

And I love it.
