I've got a big group of CDs I'm ready to get rid of, and before I go sending some web site 30+ albums, I thought I'd ask here for some feedback. Did you get ripped off, or was it favorable?

For me, they ended up not accepting several of my CDs because of their condition, which I didn't think were that bad. I traded them for Criterion DVDs and ended up getting them (Do the Right Thing, Rushmore) for about $20 each. Not bad, especially considering I got rid of CDs I didn't want.

I did spun.com a couple of times. They took some things that no one else would, which was nice. However, when they don't take something you have to pay shipping back to you, which kind of blows. Make sure your discs and artwork are in mint condition and they'll take them. Any significant scratches and you're stuck.

Or you can just let them keep your stuff they wouldn't take and not pay the shipping. That's what I did.

I think I tried Spun and when I added all my cd/vhs/dvd's in, it didn't really amount to much. Then I went to Second Spin and I got more there though they ended up sending a couple of cd's back.

I did this last year with Second Spin and this happened, but they still accepted many of the discs. The "unacceptable" discs were sent back at their expense.

Confused. I don't think I'm reading this right.

You mean you paid $20.00 for each DVD ($40 total) after a trade in and that was an actual reduction in price? (If so, you were on the receiving end of a bonafied ass fucking of unparalleled dimensions). Were they new or used products? I can buy Rushmore new at some random store in Houston for $16.99. Used, I can probably get it for somewhere between $9.99 - $12.99.

I got each new from separate orders. The Rushmore Criterion DVD is like $38 new. I got about $20 in trade-in credit and got the DVD for about $20 with tax, though I didn't get as much in trade-in credit as I had been quoted for on the Spun website (due to them not accepting all of my cds due to scratches, etc). Same thing happened with the Do the Right Thing dvd.

No ass fucking of unparalled dimensions here.

Oh, I realize which versions you mean. I did misread.

I use both of em ALOT.

I find secondspin to give more $$ per CD, for the ones they have listed.

Spun has a bigger database and catalog of music...

I use spu a bit more, cause i trade myt stuff in for store credit....or you get the amount you traded in in cash at half value....

i like both...

If you are sending them in to get cash back I'd go with Second Spin. If you want credit, I would first check out which of the two has a better selection of CD's you might want.

I have never had a problem with either as far as them not accepting a CD and neither has ever ripped me off in any way.

The two are more for people who want immediate satisfaction. If you've got some patience and are willing to wait you will get a better price usually by selling through Amazon.

Dunno about secondspin, but Spun has a pretty good collection of DVDs if you want to trade in for those.
