I do really like it. It was #100 on the last listmania, but didn't make this one.

Good list. Good to see Zombies and Love on it. I think you have 4 albums that will make my list and another 5 that will just miss my list. As for your #2 album Television - Marquee Moon, after years of seeing nothing but praise for this album I finally downloaded it about 6 months ago. I don't see what the fuss is about. Is the album supposed to grow on you or is it an album that was great for it's time? It just didn't click with me.

Its definitely a grower. I bought it in college, had the same reaction and ended up selling it back. I repurchased it sometime in the last ten years and liked it but its really only in the last 5 years that I've grown to love it. That said, from what I know about your taste, it very well just might not be your thing.

Probably one of the only overall good lists that will be posted here. I wish they would fix that Moby Grape album on CD or that I could find a vinyl copy for a reasonable price.

It always blows my mind when people say Marquee Moon doesn't do anything for them. Wasn't a grower for me--instant love.

As expected, this is a great list -- at least that stuff which I know, because there is a lot of stuff that I have never heard, too.

Very cool, Billy.

I have a recent reissue that sounds great, but it seems to have been a very limited print run. I snatched a copy up (from Borders, actually) as soon as I found one, and I haven't seen any more around anywhere since then. Let me know if you want a rip. It's got some great bonus tracks. Here's the AMG entry

Great list as expected. Nice to see Television and Buddy Miles so high up (and a little surprising). Kind of surprised that Montara is your fav Bobby Hutcherson album. I found that one a little disappointing, initially.

And thanks for the reminder that Attica Blues needs to be on my list.

i actually decided earlier this week that i need to check out some townes van zandt - is that album a good place to start? i'm assuming yes since it is in your top 50.

yeah that's a good place to start. I could have easily picked another townes album instead though. hard to go wrong with him.

I don't think that there is really one standout Fela album. I like most all of them but there's not one that sticks out as being really special. I forced one of the twofers on my last list just to have something by him on there. I'm not as big an afrobeat fan anymore though and needed to make room for more recent favs.

i can totally see that. even with the twofers, you're getting like 4 total songs. tough to pick one album.

anyways, definitely a few goodies on your list that i'll be looking into....
