Sometimes I have to do that when I go to listen to a CD and find it's not in its proper case. Then I go through my other CD cases to see if I doubled it up with another CD because that case was convenient at the time. Often I never find the CD I'm looking for but I have gone through every CD I own. Very frustrating.

Where do you work that has you inspect 1000 CDs?

On a semi-related note, in January I bought a used copy of Calexico - Feast of Wire, and the person who sold it mistakently put Calexico - Hot Rail underneath the cd when they sold it. Two calexico cds for 9 bucks -- a pretty good deal, IMO.
