I'm actually starting to believe that this could be the Cubs' year.
Last time I thought that was '03.
I don't know if I can take it again. And I'm really scared that another year like '03 would kill Ron Santo.

I voted for the first option. I guess we'll see how they continue to fare against the Phillies the rest of this week.

If the Cubs win, do I get to stop hearing the word "curse"?

No. Cleveland & San Fran just get bumped to the head of the line.

I actually think they're going to win this year. Exactly 100 years since the last one, MLB is going to have a hand in this. There's no way they can lose!

Assuming by those dates that each of those teams have one world series win, I think that the one thing that tips things in Philadelphia's favor slightly is the fact that they're the ML's losingest team. Both SF and Cleveland have plus-.500 franchise records.

Plunk Chutley. Utley is the trump against anything the Indians & Giants can bring.

Hamels & Lincecum is a pretty tight race, though.

On a somewhat related note, I am hoping for a Cubs sweep of the Phillies to give the Mets a nice head start heading into the end of their season, particularly to be ahead of the game before they face the Cubs themselves at the end.

I'm getting excited, not scared. However, I'll never start getting overconfident because they are, afterall, the Cubs. This is the best team I've witnessed in a long time, though.

Is there even any of him left at this point, other than a head and upper torso?
