I'd be really intrigued to see people do a top 100 of only albums from artists from their own country.

I got the idea simply because the Canadian lists are often very heavy on the Canadian artists. But the majority of the American lists are also riddled with Radiohead, Beatles, Stones, etc.

Neither did I but I figured he would submit one since he started all this back in the CMJ days. (I think)

I understand there are arbitrary "rules",
but, in my and about 20 other posters' cases,..
instead of making a list of people who didn't PM you,
wouldn't the time compiling a list of "offenders" be better spent
simply searching "listmania" and cutting and pasting?
obviously you've accounted for the inattention to detail.
maybe my common sense is affecting my judgment.

A quick count tells me there's only 30 American albums on my list, the rest is from Australia or the UK. There's a couple of French records and some Neil Young & Leonard Cohen also. But they're pretty American.

I think he's making you submit it because some posted lists were still works-in-progress.

I agree though, at the deadline, just take whatever lists are posted in threads. The more submissions, the better the tabulated results.

Yeah, I wasn't about to just take lists that had been posted on the board and then have the party message me two weeks later with an updated version after they'd have time to think about it.

I specifically said in the first post to PM me once your list is finalized so that you're certain you're happy with it.

What about the people who include two number 8s on their list?

Should I just consider the second 8 as the true 9 and bump everything down so that Boris is the new 100 and Primal Scream is left off?

These are the tough judgment calls I'm being forced to make.

This is what I did when I compiled top 100 lists for another forum.

Any list with more than a hundred - simply drop off the ones past 100

Lists that are not ranked - Treated every album as if it came in 100th place

Albums that are doubled up. - PM'd the author of the list. If nothing was done I would take the position of the lower ranking. Fortunately for me everyone corrected these type of mistakes

So we've decided I should just take the lists that are available of the 16 people listed above should they not submit one by the deadline?

Or should I just disregard them as not being interested in contributing to the overall obner list?

Is there a reason why you can't copy and paste the list from those that have NOT PM'd you? I mean, seriously dude, this was your idea -- you can do what you want.
