shut the fuck up about not making them

no one cares that your tastes are so eclectic and genre-spanning that making a list is impossible

I didn't know anyone was bitching about not making a list. I didn't even try. I don't think I could rank or list 100 albums if I tried all day at work for a week.

They are a little boring. I shouldn't comment since everyone hates my college football threads, but let's be honest the vast majority of posters here don't care about more than a handful of other poster's Listmania list.

Who cares what anybody thinks? For me, it was something fun to do and I couldn't care less who didn't like my list. Frankly, I think people have been pretty fair in their criticisms and even open to seeing other peoples' lists. People are just taking this a little too seriously IMO.

I'm sure people are taking it too serious. I was just commenting to be an ass after Mick's reply and pad my post count. I'm glad you had fun making your list.

I've been trying, but it's hard... don't wanna just list every Rolling Stones record pre-1980...

Or, as seen on a few lists, just list 3 Pixies records in a row...

the board was unreadable when the first page was all lists, i don't care now that it has slowed down.

the lists are the interesting thing to me on Obner ... that is a discussion of the relative merits of music and the comparison of different perspectives. in a sense the lists, the authors, the relative rankings, the histoical euphoric recall, the attempt to appear alternative, the odd combinations of musics triangulating a sensibility and a moral character... highly amusing. much better than the fast food, what-kind-of-toothpaste, here's what I-jerk-off-to display of consumerist appurtenances... and bible belt boy "the dozens" yo mama so fat typical fare.... that frequently haunts obner

and obviously has very little meaning other than simple pastime ...

I am harry, and I have approved this message (although I am back from surgery loaded up on Norco and can't be held accountable in any larger sense...)

I didn't comment on many lists for one reason or another, but once my digital and physical music collections are in order I'll definitely be re-listening to many CDs and updating my to buy list thanks to LISTMAINIA!!!!

I have no complaints whether anyone made a list or not.

I think the spirit of it is not necessary to spend a ton of time on your list. I didn't try to make a "perfect" list, but certainly it's a good rough estimation. I also don't think you should agonize over if #56 is really a better album than #57, for example. Just pick out 100 albums that you think are really good and rank em. My list at CMJ is probably way different than the one I just made.

Not that it means much, but I also approve of this message. haha.

I found it interesting to see what people put on their lists. Even though I didn't make one, I enjoyed reading them, and comparing them with albums would most likely be on mine to see who listed them on theirs, if that makes sense.

I am ambivalent to whether or not Listmania happens, but I am not upset because it did.

You can definitely tell a lot about someone by the relative merits of their list.

So much PPDD, so little Jail.
