Yeah, I admit it...
I caved in and replaced my old copy.
And I am looking forward to hearing this magnificent bastard of an album. I saw them at Metro on this tour, too and they were pretty damn great.

See my waxing poetic in this thread:

EDIT:
I couldn't pull the trigger.
But I have every intention of doing so after the next payday!

to their credit, they really only started to suck and became the goo goo dolls that we know and hate now when they got sober and the pretty boy started singing most of the songs.

no i've heard those earlier, harder albums and to my ears they suck even harder than the later day popular ones.

I haven't actually heard those early records in a long time...I'm sure after suffering through Iris 10 million times that they didn't hold up very well.

Rzeznik's voice was 1000 times better than the fat bass player who sang on the earlier albums.

Man, I LOVED Jed when I was 12/13. Don't know how it would hold up now, but I bet there's still a handful of tracks I would like.

Bumping this, just because I wanted to post this clip of one of their great songs.
I think that I was at this show.

Stop rolling your eyes.

i sat through a recent concert of theirs to see some free fireworks on July 4th

it was the worst thing i'd ever heard in my life. People booed when they came on for an encore.

Now, that is funny! And the first time that I've ever heard of something like that.

By the way, a disclaimer:
I am not a fan of anything that they've done post-1991, in fact that one album is the only thing of theirs that I've heard that I like. So I am not trying to be a Goos apologist. (But I do like that one album a lot.)

I saw them in concert way back then, for some fucking reason.

But you don't see me starting a thread about it.
