That's at the Great Dane after the reception. Jesus! That might be the most openly drunk I've ever looked in a picture. Funny thing is, Swachy was WAY more drunk than I was. Maybe I was making that face on prupose becasue he was so wasted. Yea...that's...it.

Madison makes the state, for sure. Milwaukee has spots, but then it has other not-so-good spots... I love living in this town. You thinking of a visit? We'll be done (oh god I hope) with single digit temps in a few weeks.

The Weary Traveler on Williamson St. (probably my favorite spot)
The Great Dane (good pool playin' spot, and great brews)

Let me think more on that.

Damn. You can tell I'm tanked in that one too becasue I'm playing Kyle's guitar. Probably because I either broke a string on mine or I was too drunk to tune it. I'm also sweating gravy.

The night of the 17th, Busty and I are playing twice at the usual weekly gig, once for the guv'ner and mayor (strangely enough), and then afterwards the usual slot from 8 till 11ish. My fingers will probably fall off. And then when I get out of there, I'm heading to a great music venue called the High Noon Saloon to see some former bandmates play for St Patty's Day. They're the Kissers, an irish band formerly located here, now in Boston.

Yea. We're actually playing Madison's on St. Patty's for the Mayor and the Governor at 4pm for like two hours. Then we come back on at 8pm till ???

Bring it Chase! I've been wanting to gut punch you for a while now.

Something could be arranged friday as well. At the very least, I'll see what's playing. You just looking for good bars, or music?

Wow, one of your best friends, who works in politics, and is actively seeking a new job, and you don't even tell folks about this. Hell, I could be moving to Madison with this info, FOOLS!!

Busty, I can't wait to see what CBK can dig up -- His Archives are huge and disgusting.

chase, as your attorney i would advise you to swing through and check out Busty and the Cap'n playing.

Those guys are good and they funny. Shit, they propped me up for years. They finally had to move away to escape my "bass playing"

(plus, they will play any song you want them to if you PM them with some advance notice. they have little/no shame)

Just a word of warning... that place is not a music venue. The patrons (85% of them anyway) would be just as happy with the stereo on. We know it, they know it. We entertain them as best we can, and call it paid practice. The only one who doesn't know it (I guess) is the manager, who loves us. So we keep coming back, happily.

Only in a situation like this can you get away with playing, in this order,
- Jayhawks, Angelyne
- Duran Duran, Hungry Like the Wolf
- Talking Heads, Nothing But Flowers
- Shins, Gone for Good
- Neil Diamond, Forever in Bluejeans
- Guster, Careful
- Michael Penn, No Myth

etc.

have you said the name of the place yet, or is it just called Madison's? and there's nothing wrong with getting paid to play music so long as you're not one of those douchebags who thinks that his version of "where the streets have no name" is reinventing the wheel like a guy i saw in greenville, SC. god he sucked.
