Playing Exit/In in Nashville on June 2. It sold-out before I even knew it was booked.

Nope. It's a benefit for drummer Perry Baggs.

I hope there's a high-quality DVD that comes out of this. I saw them maybe three or four summers ago, and they were tremendous.

The fan email list ( I'm a member ) was knocking around the idea of an "official" bootleg that we'd all purchase. And then the proceeds would go to Perry. Dunno if it's gonna actually happen, though.

Heads-up for those who don't have the "Fervor" & "Lost And Found" material on CD, but want it. They're reissued it ( for the 3rd time! ) again as a two-fer :

I got to see Jason live last nite for the first time in over 5 years ( he's been to the KC area a couple times since then, but it hasn't worked out schedule-wise for me ) . As always, he put on a very, very entertaining show full of stories, humor & great tunes. And as usual, the setlist was about half from him & half requests. Here's that setlist - not in exact order aside from the beginning & ending, but I think I got all the songs :

Absolutely Sweet Marie
Shop It Around
Bible And A Gun
Link Wray
To Feel No Love
Help! There's A Fire
The Tractor Goes Chug Chug Chug
White Lies
Lost Highway
Feel Like Makin' Love ( Bad Company )
Hard Luck Boy
Rainbow Stew
Window Town ( partial )
Going Nowhere
Harvest Moon
Broken Whiskey Glass
My Heart Still Stands With You
Pray For Me Mama ( I'm A Gypsy Now )
Both Sides Of The Line
Punk Rock Skunk

Encore :

Still Tied

Couple of notes :

"To Feel No Love" was requested by a longtime fan via email, so Jason worked it up before he got to town. It may have been the highlight of the evening, it was so gorgeous.

"Window Town" was another request. Due to its obscurity, Jason took a short break in the set to try to remember it. After the break, he was able to get thru a verse, chorus & a little extra. Very cool that he made the attempt, & it sounded damn good considering the circumstances.

"Feel Like Makin' Love" was a goof after some goober yelled out a request for some Skynyrd. Jason claimed to not know any, but said he did know a Bad Company song. He joked that he learned it when the band played a Jimmie Rodgers tribute show, but confused it with Paul Rodgers. He played the whole tune with a country flavor.

And I got the chance to chat & get a picture with the man after the show. Nice capper to the evening.

perry works in the ol' building where i work. it's pretty cool, having that homeboy in your midst on a daily basis. one of the many bizarre/interesting things about nashville, i guess.

The Starlight. Nice!

I actually listened to the new record the other day for the first time and was pretty shocked at how solid it is.

Nice guys who, IMO, never really got the credit they deserved as 80's beacons of alt-country.

Too bad I'll be on my way back from CA or I'd go to the Nashville show and would've tried to make it to ATL
