Yeah. It was okay. More of the same. I thought some of the writing was pretty bad though. Also, from a technical standpoint, the filters used for the wake scenes were really, really distracting. I am anxious to see how this Freebo issue is resolved though. I will continue to watch for sure.

Took me about halfway through, but I got it because they were literally pounding away all the sex and playing up the "daddy" crap so much. I suppose I am astute, just not as astute as you. :)

I was half joking when i said it and then when it became obvious later in the episode she was like "wtf?"

Haha, haven't you been trying to do that for a few years now?

As for me, I was pumped for Dexter to return. I got Showtime just for this show. Good first episode, almost a reboot of the series, but in more of a Dexter's evolving kind of way.

She is annoying. I think what bugs me the most is that the only way she can show desperation, fear, excitement, anger or any other emotion is to literally be on the verge of tears. Her melodrama is OLD. On the other hand, Rita got some implants in between season 2 and season 3. haha

Its hilarious how Rita was frumpy in the first season (even though you could tell she was attractive) and now they are letting her be hot.

Also, so is Jimmy Smits somehow gonna be linked to the killings where the killer cuts out sections of skin?

Is this The Dexter Thread? Seems a little sparse. Anyway, to contradict the business going on in the random thread, this season has been weak. I liked the idea of the end of the last episode, but the episode itself was poorly paced, written, and acted. Going back to watch episodes from the first season really highlights the decline of the series: Dexter's creepy wit and detachment from other people, the most interesting elements of his character, have all but disappeared. He killed a total of 3 people this season, all but one because of circumstances rather than any inherent need, but still goes on about his "Dark Passenger." And the visits from his dad -- a screenwriter's crutch and easily the weakest point of the show -- become more frequent with every passing episode.

I'm bored.

I don't know, since the first season they've focused more on his personal relationships and I think this season was part of the natural progression of that and with that in mind, one of the best. The conflict between his "dark passenger" and his new found need/want to be a "normal" person was interesting to watch, but I did miss the dark creepiness a little. I wonder if how it ended will draw him back into that, or push him forward into Mr. Mom territory for the next season.

She dead.

I could not be happier about that decision. The most boredom I had in that show was watching that particular storyline.

I hover somewhere between Haq and Wench's opinions regarding the dark passenger talk but noticeable lack of walk. Narratively, though, I was pretty happy with this season. A couple of WTF moments and Lithgow was awesome.
