Phish 25 times (+ 3 times in the movie theatre simulcasts)
Spiritualized 6 or 7
Disco Biscuits 8
Robyn Hitchcock 6 or 8 (2 with Soft Boys)
Polyphonic Spree 4 or 5
The Orb 4
James 4 or 5

I think those are the big ones.

qft.

I saw the Star Room Boys probably 50+ times in college (every local show and a few in Atlanta), otherwise I think I saw Fugazi and Frank Black 3 times each over the years. Pumpkins twice, back before Melon Collie, and I think that's it for repeats.

Ok.

edit: Stu, do they not count because they were local? Just curious. If it matters, I paid for admission every time, and they were the amazon.com music director's country album pick of the year in 1997 I think. Wasn't me in somebody's basement.

Nah, it was just for my sake. I mean, I've seen my bass-playing buddy play in his different bands like 20+ times, but I didn't think I needed to list it here.

My post wasn't meant to dissuade you from posting Star Room Boys or GAR posting your and Bloor's old band.

Looking at that number (50+) is kinda scary now. I really, really needed to have a girlfriend or something.

Strangely, unless I've lost count, that's exactly how many times i've seen them.

I think Olivia Tremor Control (8 or 9) and Widespread (8) would probably come in next...

No shit? I know those guys. They've toured with a couple of my acts a few times. Surprises me since I don't remember you ever mentioning them.

They are a really fun live band -- nothing more, nothing less. I don't think i've seen them in a couple of years but i used to go see them everytime they came to LA which used to be every couple of months.

I think i made a thread about them when they started touring more nationally a couple of years ago but I don't talk about them much because it fell on deaf ears and I wouldn't call them anything close to a favorite on record.

Who have they toured with that you book?

Cross Canadian Ragweed, Stoney LaRue, Cowboy Mouth, Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights.

I saw Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers last fall at Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte but I can't remember who they played with - you responsible for that, Stu?

you have to respect these two for having the balls to even admit something like this. i'm sure they are ashamed enough on their own.

My shows were spread out from 95 to 03. I saw basically a couple shows per year until 99-00 when I had vacation time, a life, and a wife that was very indulgent. At that point, we'd see a week of shows at a time. It was those weeks of sub-par shows that made the wife pretty much swear she'd never go again. She ended up going, but she's never been what I'd term a 'phan'.

I'm not embarassed to have seen them that many times. Hell, I'm even still weighing whether or not to try and hit up one of the Hampton shows. I think I'm probably going to wait and see if the summer tour pans out.

If they're (relatively) clean and sober and they actually rehearse, it'll be a good time. Otherwise it'll be a train wreck and a waste of time.

I can smoke weed and do other drugs in the comfort of my own home - I don't need to be at some overpriced show in a poorly laid out shed-theatre to do that.

Yeah, mine are spread from '93-'03 and very few of those were outside of Atlanta and only The Great Went in '97 was outside of the Southeast.

I've seen Ours probably 12 times. Other then that, I haven't seen many other bands more than twice.

I hope to increase the number of times I've seen DBT, though.

Don't remember numbers, but I've seen Sleater-Kinney way more than any other band. Reverend Horton Heat would probably be second. Great live show. There are a ton of 3-4-5's in there after that.

I've slowed down a lot in the last few years. Maybe a show every other month.
