He might end up getting lucky about saying the Dodgers are the worst team in the playoffs, never mind that the Cardinals won the '06 Series after an 83 wins season, & that the Twins won in '87 behind 85 regular-season wins. Hell, each Red Sox championship has come as the wild-card.

Pretty funny, actually.

I think the Cubs were clearly the worst team in the playoffs.

By no means am I a Red Sox fan, but absolutely no one should count them out after that eight run loss. They came back to win the series the last two times they were facing elimination, and this series hasn't even reached that level.
I hope the Rays finish them off, but let's not get cocky or arrogant about it when the series is 2-1 and both teams have won a game on the road.

Matt Stairs apparently likes it when his ass is hammered by the guys in the dugout.

"Matt Stairs" is the answer to the question "What does the typical guy from Maine/New Brunswick look like?"

"Todd Palin" is the answer to the question "What does that guy thinks he looks like?"

Man oh Man are the Rays kicking the Red Sox ass again.
I just wonder if they have what it takes to finish Boston off at home.

really at this point they should let the sox hit off a tee, but once again until someone wins 4 games, the series continues.

I went to high school with the Rays Fernando Perez. Graduated two years ahead of me, but we had one class together. Nice.

If/when the Sawkx lose, two questions: is losing the chance at a third WS in five years, to the Rays, more humiliating than losing a perfect season to Manning v2.0beta? Where is Sssqqquuuiiirrrgggllleee? Where dat BoSox superfan be at?

say what?

Dude, those files are fucking worthless. I watched the playoffs last year. I sorta kinda like the red sox, but not enough to watch games on purpose.

I renew my statement of irrelevance.

Worthless? Hardly. You -- though it might have been a combination of just having met Neuro, shiv, et. al., & not having the wife with whom to kill time -- were ecstatic over the triumphant Sawkx. Go back, read the '07 playoff threads... It's there. Ecstacy.

& now you pass it off as so blase, I wouldn't watch the Sawkx "just because". What a wonderfully prep-school rocker stance to take. Winston &/or Winfield Butler would love to meet you, then -- you've got promise, kid.

There are other ways to get attention and have a conversation, Monty.

I found this story pretty funny:

Rays pulling tarp off upper-deck seats at the Trop

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2008/news/story?id=3644302&campaign=rss&source=MLBHeadlines

The nosebleed seats in the upper deck of Tropicana Field will no longer be draped in blue when the Tampa Bay Rays come back home -- whether that's for Game 6 of the American League Championship Series or Game 1 of the World Series.

The far upper reaches of Tropicana Field -- seen here earlier in the AL playoffs -- will lose their blue tarp covers and go on sale for fans wanting to attend the team's next home postseason game.
With demand for Rays tickets now running high, the team has decided to remove the tarp that covered the highest upper-deck seats all season, freeing room for another 5,762 paying customers. Tickets were slated to go on sale Wednesday to fans who won the chance to buy them in a postseason ticket lottery. Any leftover tickets will go on sale Thursday morning on the team's Web site.

"This was our decision and based on the input and feedback from the fans," Rays president Matt Silverman said, according to the Tampa Tribune. "We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy this."

The upper-deck seats were covered in part because they're not exactly the best seats in the house. Tropicana Field's infamous catwalks block the view of the field for a number of those seats.

"Some are obstructed-view, some don't have seatbacks, and they're pretty high up," Silverman said, according to the Tribune. "But you're in the ballpark and you're there making a difference to the team."

The Rays had previously said they would remove the tarp only if they reached the World Series, when Major League Baseball would require them to make all seats available, the Tribune reported.

They should sue the Architect's ass for designing so many obstructed view seats that suck so bad they won't normally sell them. That's just irresponsible design, or a misrepresentation of qualifications to do a project of such a scale.
