I voted so I wouldn't feel like a knob going to see a beautiful girl at an "election party". I am nearly regretting my vote for the orange team, though. I'll just say green.

I went socialist this year, just for fun.

Attaboy!

Apparently Stephen Harper is a distant relative.... he seems sooooo boring, but maybe my perceptions are numbed/impaired from living and breathing the two party circus we have south of the border.

Seriously, harry? I can't believe you share DNA with Harper. If that's true, then, well anything is true.

He really is boring and cold. Kind of like an automatic program set to conservative light.

what a waste of everyone's time.

I'm in Olivia Chow's riding for it was orange for me... but I can't say I've enjoyed Layton's recently "Who's your Daddy?" routine.

It was all so lame.

A friend said she calls it the "erec...", um, obner, and we both agreed this was pretty limp.

PS - Canadian trivia: Did you Americans know people were cutting other peoples' car break wires if they had a Liberal sign in front of their house? Kinda scary.

Our charming neighbours actually called our party and had our sign removed (illegal). But then again they're just generally insane.

Newfoundland & Labrador didn't elect any Tories. Liberals 6, NDP 1, Conservatives 0.

First time there's been no governing member elected.

Gotta love AB and SK.

Blue - Conservatives
Red - Liberals
Orange - NDP
Light Blue - Bloc

And that big blue area in Northern ON, that's one riding.

So the Liberals basically just got the Yukon and Newfoundland?

I'm just incredibly disappointed that Green didn't one seat. And that Harper actually gained seats. I'm realistic in that I figured it was going to be red or blue who won, but to have him actually better off now than before is ridiculous.

It really doesn't matter, because it's a no-contest election. The liberals lost when they went with Dion. Layton may as well get "honourable opposition" tattooed on his scalp. And the Greens will be lucky to get a single seat.

The conservatives win by default. And we'll still have healthcare. And abortions. And creationism won't be taught in schools.

Oh, and 58% voter turn-out. There's that Canadian passion.

New Brunswickers apparently didn't want a carbon tax. Lost 3 liberal seats.

I voted orange. Even though I am a staunch NDP supporter, Never before has my vote felt so worthless. Thank you, "strategic" voting.

Looking at the map I'm more amazed than ever at how much land Canada has north of anything even border-dwelling folks know anything about.

I looked real hard and couldn't see Palin's house either.

Try living in Alberta and not being Conservative.

In the 2006 election I lived in Harper's riding. This time I was back in familiar orange territory. I voted Green. I'm not amused by the amount of Blue in BC. Good to see orange squeak in a riding in that blue ocean of Alberta.

I know of 20 friends who didn't vote. It's people like that, that allowed the conservatives to win. Lazy mo-fos.

Try living in Montreal and note voting Liberal or Bloc.

The way I see this election is the country is forced (again) to dance to Quebec's tune - denied the Conservative majority that should have happened by Quebec's support of the Bloc. I guess its the Conservatives own fault for running a lousy campaign in QC, but I don't know how you people in the ROC stand it.

But I guess the consensus on this board is that The Bloc saved Canada from a fate worse the death - the dreaded Conservative majority.

Based on the map, I still win.
