it's pretty understandable though, considering it isn't the primary genre of most of the listeners on this board.

I'd say parts of Asphyx.

Last year was $85 for all three days I think. I'm guessing $100-120 this year because of the bigger names. A lot of those bigger-name bands would charge $25-35 on their own.

I was planning on going last year but I had to sell my ticket at the last minute because I had to go out of town (there were only a few names I really wanted to see anyway -- Grave, Repulsion, etc.). I have friends of friends who went -- big metalheads -- who said it was great, but that was pretty much expected from them.

I'm going to be travelling a good deal this summer as well and I'm hoping that my trips don't coincide with this, but I guess we'll see.

I would probably kill myself at this thing...but then everyone else would enjoy that...

I can't even begin to imagine the amount of in-the-closet gay sex at this thing.

There are entirely too many vacants in Baltimore to be sleeping in a car.

Have any of you ever been in the area of the 2100 block of W Pratt St in Baltimore (maybe look at a map)? I was there late at night in August and it was pretty goddamn scary. People I know are scared of the Sonar area which seems absolutely fine to me, but that area in West Baltimore was like nothing I've seen save for the absolute worst spots here where I live.

Yeah, there's really no reason to be over there.

I was at a show at Tarantula Hill which is inexplicably located there. We drove around for 15 minutes looking for a place to park where our car wouldn't get broken into and were harassed literally as we stepped out of the car after parking.

the show i went to in baltimore last weekend was nuts. it was my first time actually hanging out in baltimore rather than just passing through.

we got really lost trying to find the warehouse where the show was being held, and ended up in front of a dead end where a man was laying in the street being kicked by two other men.

we were also in a neighborhood where all of those cop lights are on every corner. those things are crazy.

we made it to the show fine. but baltimore is a very weird place.
