I've never even heard of the original.

it's called reeker. worth a rental.

sometime last year i saw michael showalter and michael ian black, and showalter made a joke about this movie. he said it was about someone who smelled really bad... what is it actually about?

if the plot of the horror film is that someone smells so bad it kills, that's amazing.

I just watched American Movie (for the first time, which is crazy because i've had it sitting with my dvds forever and it was great!)

I really wish there was a way to purchase a collection of Mark Borchardt's horror films.
The gore was fantastic despite his lack of resources.

it's kind of hard to explain the smell aspect of the movie as it never really says what it is in the movie. it's actually supposed to be the killer's rotting flesh, though the movie makes it seem like he's just smelly. don't read the description if you want to see the movie because it gives everything away.

I haven't seen American Movie in soooo long. But I love that last Halloween (or was it the one before that) they had those guys stage a live screening of Night of the Living Dead in their front yard.

It was a little too self-aware for me, but I still cracked up at dude's friend.

"Superstar in a Housedress," a bio-doc of Jackie Curtis-- Warhol superstar, writer, performer, all around diva. Jackie wasn't a drag queen per se, but.... his own entity. I'm a sucker for anything Warhol-related, so I knew about Jackie long ago, but this was a nice feature about him and gave more insight into his life. Highly recommended if you're into tortured artists, gender bending and all around fabulousness.

I got really drunk last night and went to see Pineapple Express...I fell asleep like 30 minutes into it and woke up about 30 minutes before the end, but what I saw was pretty bad. I'm surprised too because I liked Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, etc.

That Trek movie looks like a whole 'nuther breed of garbage. I'm at the point where I consider Lost to be JJ Abrams' aberration rather than indicative of the quality he commits to screen small or silver.

I liked Bond but it's almost completely joyless. I could have used some more schmooze and slay. Thank god there was no miraculous poker game in it though, but the bad guy could have possessed more menace/charisma too.

I have no idea why you're surprised, you being you, but whatever. I don't get why people like this movie any more than a one-time affair, as I've had it recommended to me by several people. I guess it came out around the same time as Tropic Thunder, so I hear them compared a lot, and I vastly preferred TT.

Naw, the best thing was the new bond girl. But Bond never fuhs her and no Q? They've basically just turned Bond into a generic action hero. They might as well have gone all the way and hired Jean Claude Van Damme to play him. Not very good anymore.

pineapple express is an incredible stoner movie. its hilarious and action packed. i fucking loved it.

i was incredibly high, and got a migraine in the middle of the movie.. but i still loved it.

i've heard a few people say they didn't like it.. which is weird. a few girls said that it was "more of a guy movie" which is silly.

Everytime I go see a comedy, I get the feeling that all you have to do is make at least two gay jokes every five minutes to elicit huge laughs from the audience. And I'm supposedly seeing "the good ones" according to both critics and everyday people.

let the right one in was really, really good. there was one cgi part that i didn't like but it wasn't enough to ruin the movie. it's definitely in my top 5 movies i've seen this year.

I watched The Fog (the original) this weekend and despite being slightly dated and a bit corny whcih was to be expected I thought it was pretty entertaining.

Yeah, surprisingly. Great spy-type movie with close combat and geriatric hero possessed with psycho dad determination.

Half Nelson featured Broken Social Scene music prominently, and Ryan Gosling was pretty great in it. I've been really impressed with him after seeing this and Lars and the Real Girl. Next stop, The Notebook!

Bond was good, not terrible, not great. Putin's right in that it was a pretty grim affair. But It felt to me a lot more like a Bond movie than the last one, at least in the Moore/Dalton (yeah, I said it) sense. No Q, but there wasn't one in the last one, either. I bet John Cleese shrugged indifferently. I thought the most interesting tech in the whole movie was the nerd's desktop at MI6. I also thought the best villain was the CIA dude with the mustache. Shows what I know.
That whole rope fight thing kinda pissed me off though.
