So you are working there? It sounds like you have done it a few times. How does that work out?

well, as much as i'd like to get into the long, hazy, boozy story of Bonnaroo last year while at my brand new job, this one will have to wait until I get home tonight. There's probably still a CMJ thread about most of it from when i got back from last year, but here are some of the quick references about my working there for Tommy:

I was parking cars (note: directing cars) into the fields last year. I had to work a minimum of 24 hours but could do up to 48 if I was really not wanting to see any acts or stay remotely sane. I got paid somewhere around $750 for the work i did, in addition to getting to see whatever acts that were playing while I wasn't working. It is totally possible to work 24 straight hours when you get there and not miss any bands of anything. It's not tough work and there's always food/beer getting handed to you from vadious cars so it isn't as bad as it sounds.

the best perks were getting 3 catered meals a day, hot showers, private porta-potties and giant, air-conditioned tents inside of which we could set up smaller tents. We could also get in and out of the grounds with ease to make Wal-Mart and booze trips frequently. My favorite perk (you know, because I'm an asshole) was being able to drag 100 gallon coolers filled with beer into the concert grounds with security actually helping us, circumventing the $5 beer prices. It was kind of a pain in the ass because i was there a whole week and i really don't like hippies, but it worked out pretty damned well in the end.

yeah factor in the being shitcanned 23 hours per day, blatant hippie abuse and pranks on the lighting crew and things got interesting. I guess I can talk about the drugs now, since the bourbon is now circulating the office, but that'd be petty of me.
