Those were indeed classic.

I'd say 2005 was a prime year for Obner, if I had to pick one.

When was the Avril Vagina episode?

I remember when Ryan Adam's Heartbreaker was the greatest album of all time on there and when CMJ single handedly started a buzz for The Wrens.

That's a funny deal. We single handedly got this album noticed and yet you can hardly find a fan on this board anymore. Talk about backlash.

And the answer to the golden age question is when OPA was recounting his deflowering of his relatives and mormons on the board.

Back when Chase/Black Putin was the board asshole. Now that's shared by 10 - 15 of us.

Holy god no. That was a train wreck and was painful to read.

But, any sort of all night thread involving Cotton is always gold.

I think the Kid A thread was a music thread highpoint, though it drove me insane for a while there. So many discarded posts, the crux of which were "No, fuck you. In Limbo is a song."

The Meadowlands thing was neat.

aka: Bloor's lost years

That was the single funniest moment ever. I've spent hours searching for that thread.

The problem is that I used to host everything i posted on imageshack and most of those links go away after a year or so.

Unfortunately that moment may be lost in the comedy ether.

Speaking of "lost years" there's a lot of old threads bumped where i make some great or salient point that I don't even remember making and then I'll look at the post time and realize "yep, i was drunk at work on a Tuesday"

it was the year of the ft world tour, during which i met many, many cmjers/obnish

the year with full-throttle newly-bachelorized colin at sxsw (where i filmed you, him in his three-piece suit, and the dancing pabst can at the deathray davies show) runs a close second...whatever year that was

are we talking quality of posting here, or number of talkative active boarders at the same time

That was a pretty great moment. I think that there are plenty of Wrens fans still here, we/they've just been beaten into silence by the haters. We'll return when new material comes along. Oh, and it's not intimidation silence, it's "there's not really anything to talk about right now" silence.

I'll always look at my experience on the board in two completely different phases. The CMJ days were completely different in that we had a smaller core, but constant visitations of all kinds. The Obner days are pretty much just the "good ole boys and girls" learning to love and hate each other more intensely through familiarity. I treasure both equally, though there seemed to be more music talk at CMJ.
