So much. It's been a crazy year.

The girls - I'm so thrilled that they're all healthy with no signs of disabilities from their prematurity.

My wife - It's obvious that I out punted my coverage. And the heart failure thing was really scary. But the cardiologist says she should be back to normal in six months.

My dad - Came really close to losing him this year when he was his hit by the taxi. I really thought I did lose him, so this whole year has felt like extra. He's not 100% in the mental department but I'll take it.

School - As much as it sucks, I have to appreciate the opportunity. I'm married and have 3 kids and I'm still able to go to school full time. That's pretty cool even though I'm on track to be a lemming.

Homemade biscuits - I can't wait to wake up and eat tomorrow. Seriously makes life worth living.

Things I'm not grateful for: LSU's Defensive Coordinators & Taxi Cab Drivers. It's thanksgiving and I'll still want to take the opportunity to say FUCK those guys.

The one thing I am thankful for most is Mrs. Fryxell.

Family - they simultaneously drive me insane and keep me sane
New Job - not quite six months, but it's already clear I've found my niche
Health - still fat, but have managed to stave off diabetes, stroke and heart attack yet another year...at this rate, I just might see 50 after all
iPhone - fuh

I'm thankful for:
A healthy family, none of my parents have been hospitalized for ailments this year and my brother is doing as fine as a 25yr old with Cystic Fibrosis can do.
That my mom sold the house and now lives close to the vast majority of her family.
That I have a job during this economic crisis and that Nebraska hasn't been destroyed by any mortgage crisis or massive layoffs yet.
That the Huskers are 7-4 and looking to be in a New Years Day Bowl game.
Lastly, that I have a new apartment that cost me $135 less a month.

my wife and i have a loving family, a roof over our heads, food to eat, and tons of music to listen to. plus, we've only been to the hospital once since March, so we have our health, very relatively speaking.

I'm thankful for a loving family, supportive wife, the greatest group of friends in the world, music (both playing it and listening to it) and 31 months of sobriety.

I'm thankful for my neighbors who have invited me to their Thanksgiving feast when my own was cancelled.

This has been a rough year. Lots of extreme emotions and stupid ideas. But I'm thankful to still be kicking around.

hats off.

I did 7 months once and then realized it was less my drinking that was a problem and more so being a dick.

Once I get over the resentment for existing at all, Im grateful for a lot. Health, sanity and a loving family not to mention stable job.

Thankful for:

My wife, who stands behind me 100% on everything I do, encourages me, mocks me when I need it, and still wakes me up every morning with a kiss.

God. Some of you might mock this but the past 6 or so months I've been consumed with my faith. Its an amazing journey, one that I've learned to be a better person and affect the people around me. The church I've gotten involved with goes out and helps the less fortunate. We try to emulate Jesus, and its amazing when we try to do the right thing how perplexed people get. The people who surround me there have great senses of humor, but also are dedicated to making this town a better place, and enrich each others lives, and there isn't anything wrong with that.

My job. I might bitch once in awhile to people about it, but without it I'd be lost right now.

My family. Who else is gonna call you and ask if you bought some new wool socks for the winter?

My health. Its getting harder to wake up after a tough day out biking or hiking, but its great to have the ability to do so.

My country. We live in an amazing world. We're so globalized now that sometimes we forget the amazing majesty of the country that we live in. There is so much I've not explored, all without having to worry about passports.

There's more but those are the tops.

I'm thankful to be alive and for my close ones and to be hundreds of miles away from my family, whom I am thankful for. I'm also thankful for knowing a dear friend that just passed away.

Oh, and for old-fashioneds, my newest and favorite thanksgiving tradition.
