has anyone ever successfully explained why there are seven people on the cover?

right now i'm listening to Ookla the Mok...for some reason.

the cute lepers LP is good. people that like this and other, erm "throwback" punk'n'roll albums should check out the High Tension Wires Midnight Cashiers. it came out last year on Dirtnap Records.

I swear on the first track I was thinking "I dunno about this one" but then it hit me pretty good and I really enjoyed it. Its short, compact Rancidesque poppy punk. No complaints.

Cat Power - Dark End of the Street

NP:
Dr. John - City That Care Forgot

Yeah, that was my initial impression and then I kind of put it aside. When I started going through my 2008 albums and gave it another listen I enjoyed even more.

Is there a link for the Cat Power? While I haven't liked her previous records that much, I think I'd like to revisit.

Look towards the bottom of Page 1 of the Cat Power Year in Review thread for a link to that EP

Handsome Family: Twilight

I'm a fairly big Handsome Family fan and this is probably my second favorite of theirs behind Through the Trees. Catch me on other days and this one's the favorite. A bit more structured and traditionally country sounding songs here, still creepy lyrics, still a mood that is at once foreboding and floating. As far as I'm concerned these guys are pretty much the best in the business of bringing you that gothic country sound and this is an excellent example that keeps a nicely melancholy yet somehow hopeful mood throughout.

no idea...posse member, bodyguard? i read that cowboy isn't even on the cover for on the strength because he was late for the photo shoot so they just had some guy stand in for him and sort of hide his face.
