Odetta, Voice of Civil Rights Movement, Dies at 77

Go check her out doing a version of Another Man Done Gone:

It was the first song by Odetta I ever heard and the power in her voice just blew me away.

I nearly cried watching her sing once. Just flipping through the channels and caught some concert. I ended up writing a poem/song ode to Odetta and named my guitar after her, though my playing is not much tribute.

When she came up to Caribou a couple years back only about 100 people showed up and maybe 20 of those people knew who she was. Would have hurt my soul if I didn't already know what to expect from this area.
