Got this for Christmas and read it in one day. If you're a fan of the band, it's a great read. Sheds a ton of light on E's normally very-secretive life including the deaths of his sister and parents (and friends and roadies and neighbors and pets) and his various relationships with band members and girlfriends and wives. Also has a handful of those always-interesting celebrity encounters with people like Perry Farrell and Little Richard.

I saw it.

As an Eels fan and a comic book fan, I found it pretty fascinating.

All of this -- the documentary, the book, the double album, the best-of album, the b-sides & rarities album, etc. -- makes me very interested to see what he does next. The past few years have had a real sense of closure in regards to the first section of his career and his family and all of that. Where he goes from here, I have no idea. Then again, the final chapter of his book is entitled What Now? so clearly he feels the same way.

Eels album #7 comes out June 2nd. It's entitled Hombre Lobo which is Spanish for werewolf and the front page of their site http://www.eelstheband.com/ has E with a ridiculous beard and space-age sunglasses drenched in red.

I have no idea what the hell this is going to sound like but I already know it'll be #1 on my 2009 shmoo poll.

These guys (This guy) has really grown on me. I love his song lyrics and he can write a rockin' guitar hook.

Saw this a few months ago. It was interesting. I know a little about him, pretty ambivalent about the music I guess, but it was an interesting piece.
