Have we discussed Benjamin Gump / Forrest Button yet?

as someone on another board pointed out, "they both go through multiple hair styles. they both get jobs on boats even though they have no experience. they both narrate their stories with a charming southern accent. they both have pragmatic yet optimistic outlooks on life." and they both have children with childhood sweethearts. but i still didn't think these movies were that closely related. i see how people would walk out comparing the two, though.

i liked it. i only looked at my watch twice. for a 165-minute movie, that's not bad.

To draw parallels is just lazy. It just happens that they both live through "events" but Forrest Gump was a man who was part of extraordinary events, while Benjamin Button simply lived through extraordinary events. Completely different, and the similarities are only skin deep.

Man, what is up with people saying this was long? I mean sure it was 2 and half hours, but are we so caught up in the 90 minute movie that 2 hours is too much. People need to sit and enjoy, and actually observe.

it felt shorter than the dark knight, even though it was longer.

the latter.

i'm not even convinced it's a real film. it looks like it should've been inserted in between planet terror and death proof.

Significant mancrush on Statham here. Crank was ridiculous and I will see Crank 2 the moment it comes out. I asked my girlfriend if it would save my life would she let me bone her in an open air marketplace. She said NO! haha

slumdog millionaire - excellent flick. way better than i thought it was going to be. and the dance scene at the end was nice.

yes man - jesus, this was awful. it's liar liar w/o the laughs. parts even reminded me of other carrey movies (riding on the scooter = dumb & dumber). zooey deschanel is really fucking cute though.

i rewatched the new x-files movie and it's not as bad as i originally thought it was but it's still kind of disappointing.

Oatmill until about 85 minutes in and we see a topless Eliza Dushku.

Just saw that Swedish vampire movie called Let The Right One In and it was pretty fuckin' good. I can't understand how people are so into Twilight when this flick's out there.

Check it out:

Yeah it's been slobbered over a good bit in this thread but you're right. It was one of the best surprises I've had at the movies in a while.

I'm going to see "Rachel Getting Married" or "Gran Torino" tonight.

Guess I shouldda read this thread before posting. Hell, I guess I should check this thread more for movie suggestions too. I hadn't heard anything about this flick until someone asked me to go see it last night.

That looks like a deleted scene from Rosanne's old sitcom, where she beat Darlene's ass for sneaking out to visit David in Chicago.
