I have a Volkswagen pen, it's identical to yours, but it cost a third as much.

Hey Yail, is that the Zebra? I forget the brand. I found out in college that if you take them apart and flip the metal nib around backwards these make fabulous one-hitters that can then be washed in the dishwasher and reassembled as a pen. Hooray for hidden habits!

uh, yeah ive found a couple of substance abuse uses for my Zebras over the years......

and Mark Clark: yes, this is what you have to look forward to (like the new screename though i was hoping for a stick with Satan....)

I couldn't come up with proper justification to not post past 666.

oh hell no. those pens are awful. I went to the store once to buy pens and my Pilot Precises were not in stock, so I bought a pack of those. Aside from not going for Topicality in the Finals of the 1999 Policy Debate Eastern Oklahoma District Tournament, the worst decision I ever made. Those pens have NO consistent flow, the ink decides for itself when it wants to come out--light one second, heavy the next--leading to blotches in mid-line and at the end of sentences. Oof.

It referenced art, drugs, and cars, which is not a bad thing at all.

I was oddly disappointed when I started writing with my blue pen at my new job and they went "Oh...blue. We use black here."

Wow, this thread is really all about pens and while you've all mentioned many I like and many I would like to try, I gotta say my personal favorite is above.

if it's flipping you want:

Pentel RSVPs. especially for advanced flips--perfect for forward-reversals (thumb variety). The way in which its shape and weight distribution lend itself to that particular flip is uncanny.

on a related note, regular run of the mill Bic round-stics are also great for reverse flips but oddly are not as easy going forward. I believe the sheer "lightness" of the pen is both its strength and downfall (as far as flipping is concerned).

I have a desk folder half-full of ballpoints and sharpies...all from my old job...

I've tried to throw them away, but my pack rat qualities won't allow me...

I don't have much preference, though, as long as they aren't the shitty BIC's...anything with a custom(ish) grip is A_O_K with me...
