Another compilation of his short stories (his fourth I think?).

I really enjoyed this. The stories N and A Very Tight Place were excellent.

that might take a while... though I feel it's time for it.

I picked this up 2 days ago at a used book store and nearly got it. Its in the cards for sometime for me as well.

Right now I'm finishing up:

which is pretty good. The first part I found to be much more intriguing.

Starting this after watching My Night At Maud's. Its been on my shelf for years.

Reading "Killing Yourself to Live" by Klostermann right now. I just finished a book called "I love You, Beth Cooper" by a former Simpsons' writer. It was a high school comedy that was fairly entertaining.

I've got "Under the Banner of Heaven" by John Krakauer up next.

You should watch Eric Rohmer's "My Night At Maud's", that is the basis and heavily referenced throughout. Also, I'll need to re-watch the film now that I've read up on Jensenism, which Pascal was quite a bit ingrained with.

William T. Vollmann Rising Up and Rising Down. I'm from Sacramento, and since he lives there, I've been meaning to read something by him for a while.

Don Quixote for a book club I joined recently. It's good, but it's starting to drag a bit.

toots,

Have you read it before? It's one of my favorite books, but I wish I'd read it in a lit class as there's so much that goes over my head.

It's JK Rowling. Not a lot else that needs to be said.

Lemme know what you think. I'm a sucker for that series, but I'm a little hestitant to rush out and read something this peripheral. I'd rather she just let it rest and did something new.

This enthralling and often chilling political travelogue fully deciphers the Balkans' ancient passions and intractable hatreds for outsiders. For as Kaplan travels among the vibrantly-adorned churches and soul-destroying slums of the former Yugoslavia, Albania, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece, he allows us to see the region's history as a time warp in which Slobodan Milosevic becomes the reincarnation of a fourteenth-century Serbian martyr; Nicolae Ceaucescu is called "Drac," or "the Devil"; and the one-time Soviet Union turns out to be a continuation of the Ottoman Empire.
