I am on track two as we speak. I don't want to say it is a weaker sounding album, since the last one wasn't that hardcore, but I think it sounds more polished than agressive.
She really has some pipes and they are showing through more on this one.

great vocals, but there seems to be a few non-songs in there. only on first listen though.

on song three so far, definitely less studio work on some of the songs, less epic and dreamy sounding, but she definitely has a voice that doesn't need much processing so its good to hear it come out without it running thru so many processors

on my third listen now, and i'm a bit underwhelmed at this point. it's definitely not as shoegazey as citrus, and the comment above that her voice is less processed is right on. i think this one could be a grower, but right now i'm liking citrus more.

Biggest disappointment of the year so far for me. I'm still giving it listens so maybe it'll grow but so far it's very boring.

I love this album, perhaps even more than "Citrus."

I like the slowness of this one, but the songs of theirs that really grab me have always been the loud, hectic rockers that this one is largely missing. I wonder how it will translate into their live show.

speaking of Mazzy Star almost a year ago, has anyone checked out "Rewolf"?

[quote]Recorded on an off day during the band’s 2008 UK tour, Rewolf is a collection of songs that re-imagine the texturized dream-pop of Asobi Seksu’s three prior full-lengths ( Hush, Citrus and Asobi Seksu). In addition, the album features tracks previously only available as B-sides and a cover of Hope Sandoval’s (Mazzy Star) “Suzanne.â€
