Haha. Its important for some people- for others its an annoyance. I fall into the latter category. The people Ive wanted to stay in touch with, I have.

It's strange how many grammar school, then high school people I have on my facebook nowadays.

And it's been really fun for the most part. We all went to high school together and many are still friends to this day, one worked at the Spa with me a few years ago and that was a blast.

And last weekend one of the girls from high school held a reunion at a bar where we grew up, that one of the girls family's owned. I had to bow out last minute but heard it ended up being huge, a lot of people via Facebook came.

I've had a lot of contact with these people and it's made me miss living in my old town(which we may try and move to when our lease is over).

Best part is thanks to Facebook, someone who was once one of my best best friends up til a blowout we had 6 yrs ago and I reconnected and have now gone out a couple times recently and talked a lot, and strangely we've managed to pick up a bit where we left off-minus the anger at each other.

doesnt the system send out a message like "this person and this person are no longer friends" when ties are severed?

you can also block people so you don't show up on facebook and you never see them even if you have friends in common. you don't see them, they don't see you.

And I thought facebook did have a thing where if you defriended someone it was known.

the person can't find you if they search for you, won't see anything you post on other people's pages, etc. And vice versa, you can't see them, nothing, no tagged photos, and so forth.

I think I got de-friended for a whopper. Hopefully it was for a double with cheese otherwise , they lost out!

I got befriended by someone I thought was a friend. His loss, not mine.
