You know there are people named Dylan that pronounce it "Dye-lawn". I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't actually met one here in Lincoln. Plus, I believe one of those douchey rappers on the first season of Making the band with Puffy pronounced his name that way.

"The 5 greatest rappers of all time are Dye-lawn......................Dye-lawn, Dye-lawn, Dye-lawn, and Dye-lawn."

lol

I have a friend who pronounces Sigur Rós: Sugar Ross.

SUGAR ROSS!!!!!

I've told the guy for YEARS that he's saying it wrong. He doesn't seem to listen to me.

He has his girlfriend pronouncing it the same way.

I thought it was a d d m m y y y y type thing where you say every letter.

Or maybe Day Month Year, as opposed to Date.

Regardless I never thought about it at all until a CBC podcast this week clarified.

I'd say CBC, in their typical wisdom, got that one wrong - but I'd also say that if a band's retarded enough to call themselves DD/MM/YYYY then they get what they deserve.
