'02 was good. everything in the overall shmoo list i like or can at least tolerate, but no way is it near the best.

Looking at THAT list, I would say 02 sucked a dog's dick.

No way.

2, 12, and 19 deserve that inclusion, Mr. Negativity

Didn't the Exploding Hearts album come out in 2003? It got 0 votes in the 2002 poll.

It didn't make the top 20 in 2003 either, but it still was voted for (came in at #22).

It's just that everyone here always refers to '02 as a "great year", but there's no evidence it was any better than any other year of the '00s. Unless you're the type of person who fell for the Vines and Interpol.

Actually 2002 was a pretty good year although my lists don't share many albums with the Shmoo poll Top 20.

I had a look at my Top 100 albums of the decade and it broke down like this.

2003 - 15
2002 - 14
2005 - 13
2000 - 12
2006 - 12
2001 - 10
2004 - 8
2007 - 8
2008 - 7
2009 - 1

You have just become more eccentric.

(And we haven't had the 2009 poll yet.)

i am in full agreement. i wouldn't listen to a single one of these if you paid me.

on the other hand, neko case, spoon, and mcluskey all put out great records. overall though i would call it a boring year.

Do you want your list or the overall list?

My personal lists from whenever you started is what I seek.

If the offer's still on the table, shmoo, I'd love all of mine from 2006 and earlier.
