Rancid And Rise Against Tour Together

Rancid and Rise Against will co-headline a North American tour this summer that will include Texas punks Riverboat Gamblers as the opening act in June and Toronto's Billy Talent in July.

Tickets for the 29-city trek will go on sale in select markets on Friday, while ducats for the rest of the shows will be available on Saturday (except for Seattle, where fans will have to wait until March 6).

Rancid's long-awaited and still-untitled seventh studio album is expected this spring, while Rise Against are supporting last year's Appeal To Reason.

Billy Talent are working on their third record, while Riverboat Gamblers' Underneath The Owl will be released on March 10. You can hear that album's lead single, "A Choppy, Yet Sincere Apology," on the Riverboat Gamblers' MySpace page.

Awesome that we're getting Rancid with the Riverboat Gamblers instead of the truly godawful Billy Talent, but Pacific Colisseum? That means bad venue + all ages show. The fuckers.

How the shit is Billy Talent playing the Austin show when Riverboat Gamblers are from here?
Two bands I couldn't like less and one I really love... this is gonna be tough.

I am still shocked everytime someone on here discussed Rancid with a straight face. Don't get me wrong -- they're not god-awful and I still have a few of their albums from my early teenage years, and while I don't hate them, I don't get any they were any better than someone like Green Day (although they were certainly miles ahead of Blink-182).

I was just wishing that down here in Bmore that we would've gotten Riverboat Gamblers.

Saw Rancid last year and they were really good live. They're coming back to the same venue, a little 24 hour bar that sits across from an industrial plant in between 2 strip clubs. This year, it says they are going to set up and play outside though, so don't know if I'll go see 'em again. Really fun show last time though, crowd was rowdy but fun.

Rancid often have terrible openers, so I'm happy to see Riverboat Gamblers on the bill. I wonder how they'll go over in a bigger venue though.

Looks like I'm going after all. Personally I think Rancid are pretty great. I can't say I play them a lot, but I like punk, I like ska and reggae and I like the Clash...thus I like Rancid. Then again, I like Green Day too. I'm just not cool enough to hate bands that blend a bunch of sounds I really like from other bands into a nice, cohesive whole just because they didn't do it 25-30 years ago.

My only complaint is the last time I saw them it felt like a 15 year-old fashion show. Still, I might check this out depending on the funds in June.

Yeah, I'm a little old for the slam dancing that was popping up randomly throughout the crowd last time. They do get the young fans. I think I lost a button...really hot and sweaty in there too...outdoors may be better...wait St. Louis summer....I'll still be sweaty.

Fuck it, I guess I'll go.

Rise Against was OK when I saw them with Bad Religion back in '04. I'll just have to arrive late and miss Billy Talent altogether. Man, this Riverboat Gamblers thing really chaps my ass.

I'd love it if they would play ....And Out Come the Wolves in it's entirety. One of my fave albums of the 90s. Also, I wonder if my bro is promoting this?

Hell yes. I mean, I like just about everything (haven't heard "Indestructible," oddly enough) but that's heads and shoulders their best album.

I've seen them twice, both in '98, and it was obvious Tim was still fighting the dragon at that point. So I have yet to see them deliver a knockout blow. Here's to hoping...

[quote]Rancid Return With Let The Dominoes Fall

Six years after staying on their Hellcat imprint yet receiving some low-profile assistance from Warner Brothers for the release of last effort Indestructible, modern punk rock heroes Rancid have moved back to the more familiar — and ostensibly cooler — home turf of Epitaph.

With that return, the band have announced that their seventh studio album will be titled Let The Dominoes Fall and is scheduled for a June 2 release. Support will come via a summer tour with fellow punk heroes Rise Against.

While still boasting original members Tim Armstrong (guitar/vocals), Lars Frederiksen (guitar/vocals) and Matt Freeman (bass/vocals), Let The Dominoes Fall will be the first album to feature former the Used drummer Branden Steineckert since he replaced Brett Reed in 2006. The album features 19 original tracks and was recorded at George Lucas' Skywalker Sound Studio, with production by Epitaph Records founder/Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz.

“The crew is back doing what we do best,â€
