Did this about 2 weeks ago- well completely deleted not just deactivated. The final push was 2 more acquaintances from elementary school up all in my biz...feels good.

I was a brief user, and deactivated some time ago. I found the whole FB experience to be slightly creepy, and I waste enough time without it.

A friend of mine did this recently. He referred to it as "facebook suicide." I understand why he did it, as I'd say 80% of our highschool alum are CONSTANTLY bitching online about how awful Obama is. It gets tiresome after a while. I definitely need to cull a few neanderthals from my list.

you should defriend them and let them know why you're doing it too.

Catching up with your elementary school friends is okay if you graduated from HS a few years ago. But, c'mon, few of you have kept those relationships. I will admit that two of my best friends I met when I was in 7th grade. But any friends prior to then, I doubt I REALLY wanna keep in touch with them.

I went to a K-12 school, so elementary classmates were high school classmates.

A few have friend requested me, but since there are so few of them it's not annoying.

I believe that people come and go. There are people I associate with right now who will likely be on to other things in a year or two, and there are people whom I haven't spoken to in years that pop back up, and we pick up where we are now. It just depends on the situation. Just because that relationship eroded over time is not a reason to outright abandon it.

See, it's funny, I just got added by a friend from middle school and elementary school, and I think it's pretty awesome. I guess a lot of you are from/ lived in the same place most of your lives until college or whatever. I moved 6 times in 12 years of school.

yeah I don't much care if I lost touch with people from middle school or whatever, if they're interesting now. But hey, if you turned out to be someone I can't stand, the Defriend button is only a click away.

There are many people I know who have been friends with the same people pretty much their whole lives, and still live close and see them as well. It's more normal then you think, and they all have each other on facebook(and some are on mine as well).

My best friend SINCE HS just reconnected with someone she was close with from preschool til sophmore year, about the time her and I became friends. She's ecstatic to reconnect with this woman and they've already gone out a couple times for dinner. All because of Facebook.

From Kindergarten til I was 15 my best friend was the boy across the street from me. His parents moved to Cali at that time and we completely lost touch. Til facebook about three months or so ago. It's great we were both excited to find each other. He taught me how to ride a bike, gave me my first punch in the face, we blew up our barbies and GI Joe's in his sandbox. We also played spin the bottle with another boy and girl in Jr High together. I mean come on, some of the past is filled with awesome memories of people.

Frankly there are people from back then I'd RATHER talk to then some I've met in the last few years. Maybe it's because we all mostly live in the same area still, and have similar lifestyles.

I'm also on the planning committee now for my 20th HS reunion. And looking forward to it. Hell, we're even considering house hunting around where I grew up. My best friend, my sister and a couple other old old friends I talk to now live there.

I suppose it is different for everyone and can depend on your lifestyle, and where you grew up.

I wish my childhood friends had more unique names. There are a few that I would like to find, but there's not much point in searching for a Michael Clark when you don't even know what state they're in now.

Dude, I'm already part of your Mafia -- what more do you want from me?? And may I add, you've been winning with my assistance. ;)

Yeah I dig those too. It's kind of cool to see what everyone else chooses for their top fives.

Matt Drudge tagged Barack Obama in a photo

As far as obvious parodies go, I thought this was pretty goog.

I don't play mafia, but I like commenting on Loog's mocs on Facebook. I'd also like to ridicule FT more about the Spurs, but who am I kidding, I only root for Nebraska.
