My pooch, Mickey, had to be taken to the vet today. He's not been feeling well for the past three days and figured it was time a professional checked in. This has been the look I've been receiving, poor lil' boy...

Sending good vibes Mickey's way. Poor pup.

While at the vet's today, a couple of 'bubbas' walked in with their dog, Tinkerbell. I wasn't quite sure if it was a Daddy and Son Bubba relationship or a Bro Bubba #1 and Bro Bubba #2 situation. All I know is that if I had Squirtle cellphone taking skills, I would've taken a shot of Bubba #2. He was straight outta Redneck Country -- generic, beat up baseball-style cap (with mandatory grease oil stains on the lid), sleeveless t-shirt, hair in a ponytail, and a couple of tatts, one on each upper arm. One of the tattoos? Mickey Mouse..in living colour.

Dammit, I should've asked him for his number.

PS -- Mickey is feeling loads better, not a 100%, but better than before. He's trying to get over the humiliation of being given an enema. *shudder*

I saw Cary's dress rehearsal the other day and it was great!

There was a scene where Fudge (Cary) was supposed to cut his own hair and say, "Look! Fudgie's a barber!"
Cary couldn't find the scissors, so he grabbed a marker and ad libbed... scribbling on his own face, "Look! Fudgie's an artist!!!"

I had no idea it was an ad lib until Cary told us after the show. Nobody did.

The director liked it enough to change the scene around and keep his ad lib as a part of the play.

The kid is 9 years old!
Damn.

And, they put up promo shots at the Theatre web site.
---------------

And Ethan played me in chess last night.
I'm no great chess player by any means, but he's 7 and had me in check a couple of times.

He also told me about what his strategies were... thinking ahead and seeing the whole board. 7 years old.

------------------

Having kids is awesome.

I was having some fun drawing attention to the fact that perceived age is the least of your (or any male's) worries when it comes to hoping for an Ellen Page makeout session.

Cary's first performance is this afternoon -- matinee for the school kids. (He gets to miss a day for this.)

Break a leg, kiddo!
