Have any of you heard this record? It's apparently a shoegaze revival type of sound, and I would like to find some opinions of it. I think it is only released in Britain right now so maybe Konstantinl or Sketch has heard it? Dalen (you have a heap of british shit)? Anybody?

we play the album at least 3 times a week here at work 'cause we all love it. it's also my wife's favorite album lately.

it's not really shoegaze in the traditional sense [ride, slowdive, mbv], but it is deep and ethereal.

do you need a copy of it?

I was under the impression it was a vinyl only release. Am I wrong in this regard?

i have an EP of theirs, and i remember not being all that impressed -- definitely don't remember it being shoegaze-ish...more like doves-ish.
i'd like to hear the full-length though.

I was just going on description cause I haven't seen or heard it anywhere but it still sounds good.

Alright i've heard it now.

First impressions - Dalen was right, it doesn't really sound like Slowdive or Ride etc. It sounds more like some Doves songs circa Lost Souls, although you can see they listen to alot of the old shoegaze bands too.

It's a decent record, nothing life changing . I don't think the production on it suits the record , the guitars need to be brought forward and the vocals pushed back to make a better 'shoegaze' style record.

Boy, include me too as also being impressed with this album. Verrry nice. Swirly in a mellow way that I really dig.

Track #5 Let's Just See is my favorite so far and will definitely be on my next mix.

That track is definately the best. This album has grown on me quite a bit, and might make my top 15. I still have my reservations on some of the production used but overall the albums pretty great. Sounds like my old favourite M83 - Dead Cities without the omnipresent keyboards, and more vocals. I think a lot of obners will like this if they heard it.

ok i listened to the album. nice enough, just kindda flat and uneventful. why is so much music like this? that one song tho, fucking beautiful. like a sublime moment in time. and is now going in my existentialism mix, lol i say. that said, i wish i spared the bandwith on some dj rupture mixes instead. i am a sick man... i am a spiteful man.

I've only heard "Let's just see" from yesterday's make-a-mix. One of the better songs I've heard in a while. BTW, thanks to everyone who did that mix yesterday. Lotsa good shit.

More thoughts on "Let's just see". I find that some of my favorite songs are the ones where I can imagine my self walking in slow motion down a rain-slicked, city street. This song does that for me in a big way.

You should check out the Blue Nile then, esp. the first two albums.
