What a shitty lineup...3 headliners that haven't had a decent album in over 10 years...

last year's headliners were radiohead, wilco, rage against the machine, nine inch nails and kanye west. apart from kanye, that's a pretty decent festival... in 1998.

i think C3 and perry still believe that these bands draw well because their fans are open to dropping $180+ since it's likely one of just a few shows they'll go to this year. two weeks prior to lolla is pitchfork's festival, which is 3 times cheaper and geared toward a younger crowd that goes to way more shows and wants current bands. although, their first night of jesus lizard, built to spill, yo la tengo and tortoise doesn't really show it.

depeche mode sounds alright, not really excited about the beastie boys or jane's addiction at all.

lineup isn't being announced until april 21. the only other band i know that's confirmed is kings of leon.

lou reed is apparently playing this too. sweet.
