I'm watching this preview thing, and Will Ferrell does not appear to realize that his character is obviously patterned on Ric Flair.

He even said "My shoes cost more than your house" in an example of the "outlandish dialogue" of his character..... Yikes.

This could be funny, but Ferrell's involvement seems like I should set my expectations to "FAIL."

I know Danny McBride is another one-trick pony in the comedy world but the dude makes me laugh. I can't help it.

I'm eagerly anticipating this show... Plus, I think/hope the Ferrell thing is a one-time stunt casting thing...

That first episode was rough. I will watch again, but if it stays like that one it won't remain a watched show for me.

I'm sure it says something about my interest in this that I didn't realize it was coming on last night until HBO showed the evenings line up right before Big Love came on.................then I didn't even remember to watch it 30 minutes after Big Love was over.

I caught a brief "making of" bit about this and saw Ferrell talking about how much improv was going on for the scenes and how fun it was to do. From what I understand, "Step Brothers" was done much the same way in that Reilly and Ferrell would just riff with each other for scenes. I found that movie painfully unfunny.

I will ignore the signs of disaster and check it out though......

I didn't even think about this. I'll set the DVR to catch it the next time it's on, though.

no way anything with this title should be made without the copious involvement of jerry reed

:whiff:

this joke maybe would've worked if he wasn't dead.

edit: just watched the making of and the first episode. it was kinda funny but will ferrell seems like the weak link in this. every part he was in in the making of was really bad. also, it had good music. the black keys part was great.

Holds potential.

The joke to the principal about his triathlon training was funny. Something like, 'I play real sports and don't care to see who can be the best at exercising'. Made me laugh as someone who races bikes.

Yeah, that line cracked me up. I laughed pretty hard a few things, couple other things were kinda lame. I'll keep watching.

The preview makes it look even worse than Summer Heights High.

I don't know if I'll watch episode three. Thought last night's was utterly pointless. Awful really.

Never watched Summer Heights but I'm with you. Missed last night's ep though.

His book on tape that he constantly listens to cracks me up.
