That song "Brother" is great now that they've finally put together a decent recording with lyrics.

Been getting airplay, too.

This made me laugh for some reason.

I may download this just for "Brother". I think I remember hearing whatever earlier incarnation/bootleg or whatever was out there years ago.

Growing up in the nineties, I feel like Pearl Jam owes me something that I can never have back. For every person that ever thought Eddie Vedder had a good voice and tried to emulate it. For everyone that ever thought pairing boots with denim cutoffs was a good idea. For every dumb, sensitive rugby player that ever picked up an acoustic guitar. Why does everyone who likes Pearl Jam also like Jack Johnson and Ben Harper and take up surfing at age 21 after giving up football and learning how to "chill out" at college, despite living hundreds of miles from any beach. I don't know, and I don't care.

But one thing is for sure: I fucking hate this band.

I think we're all getting pretty used to this by now, Mick.

Maybe you should direct your hate towards said douche bags for these things and not this band? Just a thought...

I have to admit I liked this album at the time but in 2009 its frankly unlistenable.

In fact 'mortifying' would be a good one word description.

I don't understand how that can happen.

I mean, I LOVED the Smashing Pumpkins back in the day. LOVED them. Now I never listen to their old stuff (and damn sure not the new stuff). But I don't think that Siamese Dream is "mortifying."

Can a person's taste change that much that you're embarrassed that you listened to it in the first place.

I don't get it.

funny, I have the same with smashing pumpkins. I can't listen to anything of their stuff anymore, and I own every single album + several bootlegs... siamese dream is the least embarrassing album for me now.

siamese dream holds up way better than ten.

and why the hell did they release it as a double-freakin-album? i think anyone who's gonna buy this already has the original version. . . seems totally pointless outside the obvious revenue-stream aspect of it
