the pats will never be 19-0, mentally they are scarred from that loss in the Super Bowl... just like the Cubs will never win the World Series because the pressure is too high

Yea, especially if he decides to take the year off like he did in a contract year two seasons ago. Guy can be a beast, but he can also completely disappear for stretches of games.

mentally scarred teams don't go 11-5 with a backup qb who never started a college game, my man.

not saying they wont have winning seasons, maybe another title... but 19-0 ... come on now.... btw, an 11-5 season does you no good if it's still not good enough to make the playoffs, its too early to settle for mediocrity for you guys

i knew what this thread was about before opening it. blech.

now i have trust in the big tuna and all, but it's been tough watching everyone else in the division go on crazy spending sprees so far this offseason.

seriously if this happens, i don't think there will have ever been a better team on paper. it's obviously football and players can get hurt, but going into the season this team would be a much better candidate to run the table than the 07 squad. give me galloway and lewis over gaffney and stallworth any day on the other side of the ball too.

you'd rather have Greg Lewis than either Gaffney or Stallworth? Have you seen him play?

first of all, i said i prefer galloway + lewis to stallworth + gaffney, but more to the point, i know eagles fans always thought stallworth was a better player than he was, so yo might not realize how fragile he was. also, he was only good for teh deep ball, which is something we already have covered with moss. as a backup to welker in the slot and a reserve receiver, i think he is much more valuable to my team than stallworth.

Stallworth is totally fragile (and a terrible driver.) But Greg Lewis is mediocre at best. I expected Gaffney to have a bigger role last year with Stallworth out of the picture, but I still think he's considerably better than Lewis and i have no idea why the Eagles cut him.

Yeah, picking up wide receivers from the Eagles not a good thing. Freddie Mitchell is probably available if you want him, too.

On a side note, I hope if the Pats get Peppers the league fines them and Carolina. They're not allowed to discuss trades with him until he signs, right?

Thank GOD they play football games on paper.

And, no. Without even looking at the rosters, the 89-90 49ers are better but I bet there are more.

I have a feeling that peppers started this rumor. The pats will never pay him what he's seeking.

the pats don't pay anyone what they are seeking, that's why they are who they are. they convince players to take less for a chance to win.

and to whomever was talking about not taking receivers from the eagles, thanks for the advice, but i recall jabar gaffney going for back to back 100 yard playoff games for the pats a few months after the eagles cut him. the problem in phily is the eagles, not the receivers.
